Hey guys quick question Im doing a system over haul. Taking a HP apart reusing the cpu, ram, hardrive, dvdburner etc. Im getting a new Mobo, video card, case, psu, etc, Windows XP Pro OEM. When I reuse the hardrive all I should have to do is put the XP Pro CD in and it will give me an option for a clean install, and reformat and will wipe the old OEM HP Crappy Home Version off, and I have it partioned into three parts using Partion Magic, I wont loose those partiontions correct. Ive never dealt with a HP hardrive on a new system, so I dont know if it will work.:)

you should find out which partition the operating system is on now (you can tell by the size), so you won't erase the wrong one during setup. everything on that partition you want to keep, move to another partition 'cause it's gonna be gone.

when you install the new windows, just delete the partition and let windows create a new one. it's that easy.
