HP Laptop Goes Dead

Recently I noticed my computer screen was very loose so I turned it over and noticed one of the screws was missing. Well, we removed one of the screws from the bottom of the laptop and put it on the screen so it wouldn't fall off, but ever since, my laptop goes dead every night. The screw we removed is kind of free standing in the bottom and it's not holding anything together (or so it looks), but has a little sign next to it that looks like a circle, with a line through part of it. We tried to find a screw to fit in it around town but it seems no one has any that fit, including radio shack. It can be completely charged up when I go to sleep at night and then the next morning it is down too 0%. Does anyone have any ideas?

The screw you removed holds the CD drive in, but I can't think of any reason removing that would cause the problem you're describing. Have you tried putting the screw back in to see if it magically fixes the problem?

If you need an extra screw, it would be best to take out one from around the bottom edges.
