HP Laptop Performance

I am having a problem with my ze4800 HP Laptop. Two days ago I doenloaded an upgrade to my Norton Anti Virus over the exisiting Norton product. After doing so was unable to boot the laptop. I ran chkdsk a couple times and was finally able to boot. I removed the norton products successfully however the performance on my laptop is severely impacted. It does boot and all applications work fine but it is extremely slow. Check defrag which is okay, ran disk cleanup successfully, and once again ran the chkdsk tool without any errors.

Any idea where i can look to improve my performance.

Thanks Bill

try a registry cleaner. in the past, norton has done nothing for me but screw with my files and throw in a shit-ton of unneeded registry entries.

I own an HP laptop as well, and I have never had a problem with it, but I have had nothing but problems with Norton. I had a similar problem where I downloaded an update for a Norton thing, and I was also having trouble booting. I did the chkdisk thing too, and I ended up running a registry cleaner and that cleaned it out for me. I did an AdAware scan after that, only to find out that I had several things that had been downloaded from Norton, (or in the file that came from Norton's website), but I am sure it was Norton, not something else.
