HP Laserjet 8550dn

Just bought myself the HP Laserjet 8550dn.

An old model I know - second hand, and not done much milage.

I have simply plugged it in, and configured the IP address - not easy when you have no manual!

Printer is working, driver installed.

I am printing graphics and images ok, but all fonts seem to use the crappy fonts inside the printer, and not the ones I use as standard.

I do not have a huge knowledge of printers, especially laser ones.

It has postcript and plc?

Is there a setting I am missing which I need to alter?

Any info greatly recieved - I cant keep printing out the crap I currently am!

I don't think the font issue is anything to do with the printer hardware. My theory would be that the printer driver is not converting the information properly into the desired product. I would try re-installing the drivers, and make sure that it isn't outdated.

Yep - after sleeping on it, a looked again, downloaded a different driver, and it works great!

Shame it is so bulky! I bought it without seeing it, and it is HUGE!

A lot of those multi-function lasers are, yeah... The smallest one I've seen is actually made by Samsung, but it's still kinda big, not to mention heavy...
