what version of xp do you have: home or pro? i have also have xp on the same type of computer, and i might be able to hook you up.
EDIT: ohh, dude, i found your problem. i followed your drivers link, and it shows only like half the drivers available! instead of looking for your HP Pavailion dv9271ea, look only for the dv9000z or dv9000t. the diffrence between the two is the 'z' model has an AMD chip and the 't' model has an Intel chip. make sure you choose the correct one. if you dont already know the chipset, there should be a little sticker at the bottom right-hand corner of the laptop, near the keyboard
