My computer HP pavilion dv6000 running Vista has issues! It will not boot on battery power! It gets to the Microsoft Corporation screen and while loading it glitches. Now it's getting worse and sometimes it does the same thing when it is plugged in! When this problem happens it does start up repair every time and it does not solve the problem it gives an error message "Root cause found A patch is preventing the system from starting Repair action:System files integrity check and repair Result: Failed. Error code = 0x2" I have reinstalled Bios and ran a battery health check and it does not fix the problem.

First of all, the operating system has nothing to do with BIOS. Your laptop shoud be able to boot, even if you don't have a os installed. Leave BIOS alone. :) i am guessing Vista was not installed properly. Reinstall it. Also check if you laptop is Vista capable.

the laptop came from hp with vista on it so I imagine that it was installed correctly and is Vista capable. Something else that I forgot to mention is that it will not successfully boot on AC power with the battery removed. Thanks for the post I will try reinstalling Vista.

i have a hp laptop also. Mine it's vista capable, but the video card has some issues with vista. So don't count on Hp for being the smartest. Most likely you wont be able to boot a hp lap without the batt installed. You can removeit seconds after the bootup.
