HP Pavilion RAM Upgrade

Hi,

I am looking to upgrade the RAM on my HP Pavilion DV6110CA notebook computer from 1GB to 2GB. My main question is what are my limits...I see different specifications for RAM interms of speed and so on. Can I install a PATRIOT 1GB PC2-5300 667MHZ DDR2 DIMM into my system or do certain factors like the motherboard and so on hinder me from doing this?

Thanks

Also I was looking at the RAM from a company called K-Byte....is this a good brand for memory? I see 200 PIN or 240 PIN and I don't know what that means? Does my notebook computer have to have a certain amount of PIN holes to hold it? Sorry I am a really noobie in this area.

Thanks

It takes 200pin DDR2 SODIMMs, so that Patriot you mentioned will not fit. I don't know what speed is in there now, HP doesn't say, but DDR2-667 is probably the fastest you can find for a laptop anyway. You can't hurt anything be putting faster/slower RAM wont hurt anything.

You can check what speed you have with CPU-z, that will keep you from buying more expensive RAM then you need.
