Hello,
My HP Pavilion ze4600 Laptop won't start up into Windows xp. I push the power button, and it looks normal, Then it goes past the windows loading scrolling bar, then right about before it gets to the login screen, it just shuts off and does nothing. It is able to boot up into safe mode just fine. I also went into msconfig and unchecked all startup items. (same problem). I replaced the ram with a 512 stick. (from 256). Thanks to anybody who can help me.

Based on what's happening, it seems as though something has gone wrong in your system files. You need the install cd to do a repair. All you do is boot from the cd, and when prompted choose repair windows install and whatever options apply if given. Be glad you can get into safe mode, that means there's still hope for your install :). On a side note, did you recently install a new program? if you did, boot into safe mode, uninstall it and try again. Sometimes it is just that simple. You wouldn't believe what damage one piece of badly written software can cause.
