HP Pavillion dv6-1130tx boot problem

Hey guys,

I have the laptop described on the thread and its not booting. It displays the the HP logo and it stays there for a while like its locked or bricked or something. It worked fine yesterday, what I don't get is why now all of a sudden its not working? From what I remember the laptops last operation around (06/05/10) and it was on low battery and it shut down on its own. I reckon that isn't the problem to have caused the laptop to not boot because the battery is now fully charged. I've also did the hard reset where the battery is taken out and the power button is held for 15 secs.

I also want to note that when it was turned on there was heat coming out from the processor area. The heat is like as if you were playing a game at high graphics and it seems unusual temperature for a boot display of black and white.

Sorry for the long scenario, and would appreciate for advice.

Cheers

Try to detach the hard drive, then power up to see if you can get past the HP logo.

In most cases, the laptop gets stuck at boot up while trying to detect a failed hard drive. But let's hope this isn't the case.

it seems that the laptop had a failed harddrive and also the motherboard is dead, so hp got it fixed took a while for them to take laptop but all is good now.
