I ahve an HP Printer/scanner however my copying (printing) works, but when I try to scan it says cannot connect to pc. How can I fix this?

Thank You

yeah drivers also check if the installation was full or compact not minimal, what are you scanning with, windows scan or the hp software itself ?

I'm actually pretty new at this, and I don't know how to upgrade the drives. I bought this a while ago and only used it for printing, and recently tried scanning but it didn't work. What do you mean what am I scanning with? I just put a paper and click the scan button. Am I doing it wrong?

no cause you can scan using 2 methods, using windows scan, via control panel, or suing the HP software, but am guessing you're using HP itself.

anyway if your printer was bought a "while" ago don't mess with it, instead take it back to the stores if it's still on warranty, and tell them you can't scan

Right click on My Computer then click on Manage, then find your HP Printer device, right click on it and click Update Drivers, make it look in the internet.

Do that before you send it back to the store lol

thing is, I moved so I can't really return it. (different state)
Secondly, if theres more then 1 ways to scan, can someone list them? Do I still need the cd to upgrade? there's no other way if I don't have it?

Also, I went under device manager after I clicked management and I only saw 2 printer icons which said IEEE Devices and IEEE compatible printers. Then I right clicked them and clicked hardware changes.
