HP Printer question

I have a HP officejet G55xi. The problem I have is that the underside of the scanner glass is beginning to look a little "fogged-up". There appears to be a thin white powder on the glass which I suppose is paper dust and which might cause loss of definition in scanned material.

My Question is: Is there an easy way to remove the glass to clean it or to get to the underside for cleaning? I asked this question in an email to the service dept. but they did not answer.

I would try blowing it with one of those cans of compressed air. Thats probably the safest way to go. If you play with the printer and try to get under the glass, you might void the warranty.
