I have a hp probook and it crashed a few days back and is running extremely slow. I am running windows 7 64bit, 4gbs of ddr3 ect. Anyways right before it blue screened I had installed 4gbs more of ddr3, when first booted it ran fine, but I went to update java and it just froze and blue screen'd. I took the ram back out and went to boot it up and it wouldnt allow me to go in safe mode, or return to a previous back up on the hard drive. After multiple attempts it wouldn't even recognize the hard drive. I had to pull out the hard drive and place it back in and that did the trick. I had to re-format the hard drive and I lost everything. Anyways I go and trouble shoot cannot figure out why it was running so slowly, come up with nothing. I put the 4gbs back in and it runs but very slowly. Internet loads super slow, but I know the connection is very good. When ever I try to go to control pannel or any other windows program it freezes up. On the internet I keep getting a plug in crash error, but I cannot recall what program it is. Does anyone have any ideas on what is going on? Its been a while since I messed around with computer, I never messed with anything windows 7, however I did some extensive stuff while working with Windows xp. Thanks for any imput.

Test the hard drive either with the BIOS test or the HDD manufacturer utility (hell I'd do both) off their website. I'd also run Memtest86+ to see if there are any issues with the memory.
