Hi everyone, i'm new here. so this is what I have.
HP pavilion G4 1315dx

This is what i would like to do. i would like to setup a RAID 0 and remove my optical drive and replace it with a hard drive. Obviously i have looked in the BIOS and into firmware updates and driver updates for my chipset and there is nothing out there as of right now. It's looking like i'll have to install a Modded Bios firmware but that makes me nervous because i could brick my computer.

I am running the APU Radeon 6520G

Any ideas around modding my bios or is that something that i'll have to do if i can at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
You better not update the bios with a non-HP bios rom file. You'll most likely brick your computer.
 
Most likely. Thats the reason behind doing your homework on laptops. Because once you buy it, you are basically stuck with what you got. You can't upgrade the processor.
 
well that sucks. i have another drive and the caddy that replaces your optical drive. i guess i'll just have to use it as another drive or something :(
