HP Slimline s7410n

soooooooo, after a trip to a local compusa, i saw HPs new little toy; those slimline PCs. they look pretty sweet, basically a laptop built for your desk, with the hdd of a regular computer (im guessing its a 7200). the 7410 has a gig in it, apparently only two slots, filled with 512s...and i was wondering, (as a mix of the fact that most companies that sell to the consumer, best buy, circuit city, etc., arent going to give you any details about the computer whatsoever, and also that im too lazy to look it up myself) if anybody knew anything about these computers, because best buy apparently has a really good deal running where theyll throw in the monitor mouse keyboard, etc, for a little more than what the PC is worth retail.

i only ask this because im tired of my frankenstein computer sitting there with its socket 754 self, staring at me dumbly saying "i need ram and a gpu, otherwise im just going to keep beeping at you" every time i see it. i think ill just either wrap that project up with crap ram and a crap gpu and sell it to some noob, or ill just sell it the way it is, or part it out. i know that its going to take me another 500 usd just to get her going (minus the many headaches, minus windows crapP, minus minor electrocutions) so im seriously considering buying some dumpy store-bought computer.

any thoughts?

you know what...screw it.
(1) i dont have the money
(2) i despise store-bought PCs
and
(3) id rather stick with amd...plus if at some point i decide to buy a version of vista (yeeechhhhhflrhdufirue), id want to have the 64-bit crap to go with it.

ON THAT NOTE, i just read an article about the beta version of vista, and apparently WMP hangs a lot, it bluescreens when coming back from sleep, and some other crap that makes it even less appealing. that plus its long overdue, giving microsoft even less points. score!

i just threw in another 250 bucks onto my project...i bought some corsair xms ram, a solid gig, its alright, i could have opted for better timings...i think theyre like 3338 or maybe 3238 or somethin close to that...anyway, i got that and another hdd...a 400 gig somethin or other (i think toshiba, cant remember), 3 gb/s...pretty sweet for 150 bucks, lets hope it lasts...
