HP w1907 Monitor - Blank Screen

So when starting my computer today my screen went blank (black screen) into sleep mode. My computer is still running and I can hear sound through my speakers. If I turn the monitor off then on again, it will display properly for 2-3 seconds before entering "sleep mode" again.

I hooked up a new monitor to the PC and now it works fine.

Is they anyway to fix the HP monitor from going blank or is it a goner?

Most likely a goner, unless you're willing to do some pretty in depth hardware repair. Probably a bad capacitor somewhere inside.
 
Heh, reminds me of TV repairs. It probably IS a dead capacitor too. If you have knowledge of electronics and how to use a soldering iron you could attempt it. just google your model and 'faults' after it and you should get some good info on what fails most likely/often in that unit.
