HP Z230 psu?

Hey. I'm wondering if the HP Z230 with 400w power supply has a proprietary power supply or if I can upgrade it in the future.

Is it the midtower unit or the slim tower? If its a slim tower then your limited to a tfx power supply which they don't make anything higher wattage. Usually dells were the only ones that had proprietary psu's.

It's the mid tower.

You should be okay then. But to be safe, I would open it up and look at the cables to be sure.

But the Z200 is proprietary psu, which scares me. Z230 I'd think is the same?

Thats why I said to open the case and look at the power supply cables. As long as there are no weird connectors then a standard power supply will work.

Good suggestion. We're purchasing something without looking at the internals though.
