HP zv6000 Problem

Hi,

I reformatted my laptop with my desktop windows xp prof. disk and when it finished and windows loaded up, the speaker vole buttons on the front don't work, or the buttons to the connect to the net on the laptop itself (the button to switch wireless on). Also the graphics, sound etc don't work.

Does anyone know where I can get these drivers to make everything work?

Thanks

On dells there is a partition that has all of the stuff for that in a little partition (media center direct + front buttons and some codecs)

Those buttons need a little program that runs in the background to work. They are not included with retail versions of Windows XP, they only come in HP system restore CD's (those HP computers that did come with them in the past) for your particular model, or by using the system restore partition to restore windows. These little programs may well be on the HP site for download.

For example, I had a Pavilion 7865 that I bought in 2001. It came with a keyboard with buttons that glowed. I later found out that the keyboard would not glow if a particular little program, USBMMKBD.EXE, wasn't running. So, I backed that one up and set it to run automatically by adding a startup registry key for it, after I had formatted with a retail Windows CD, and the keyboard glowed again.

And, it could also be that you're just missing some drivers.
