Hp's XP Recovery Disks Product Key

Ok Turns out Hp's XP Recovery Disks only accept HP branned Product keys. The Key has smudged off the back of my Laptop. Does anyone know how to get product key some other way?
To make matters worse the series of Laptop it seems has a block on the Bios which doesnt allow regular XP Disks that use Regular XP Keys to work.

Yeah Problem was that the Os was corrupted and wouldn't boot, turns out all I had to do was run the HP XP Recovery Disk and it would do it all its self. Didnt even ask for Product Key. So its all done anyway disk has the Product key in it.
