hrm... need some help for core duo build

i have decided to build a C2D system soon, not sure about the e6400 or e6300, but i know im getting one of them

so heres what i need opionions on-
mobo- i really like the Asus p5b deluxe with the wifi for my lappy
RAM- no idea, 1 or 2 Gigs? what kind for overclocking? best value?
GPU- another no idea, completly lost, not a gamer, would like to run google earth at a decent clip, a little video editing,
I also want to watch TV on my pc, through a tv cable connection, should i buy an add-on card, or get one with it on the gpu?

soundcard-needs to be cheap, decent sound
PSU- got a 500W, that enough?
case- got that taken care of
DVD-cheap lightscribe??
HD- i was thinking a small raptor for windows, and a 250GB sata?

um is this possible in the range of 1200?

no monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, nothing except the pc

if i had to get it under 1200, what should i sacrifice? the raptor?

7600GS graphics
Separate tv tuner card

looks pretty good to me

is the 36GB raptor enough to put my windows and programs on?

also, is their a cheaper sound card available?
 
I would try to go with a x-fi extreme music. Other then that it looks good. Might consider e6300 and overclock it to save some money and upgrade vid card a little.

when it comes closer to building day, i will be posting more often on this, i just wanted a general idea, any other suggestions welcome

and i think im gonna take the e6300 and overclock also
 
A 36GB raptor will be enough for windows and a few programs, right now I am using around 60GB for my windows partition on my computer.
 
well first of all, i am going to build it myself like I have all my pc's

and would I notice a difference if I put windows on a sata II hd instead of the raptor?

also how should I configure the raptor and HD for my music and movies
