ok so heres the deal. i traded my psp for a computer from my neibhors because i really liked the case.they thought they fryed the mobo but i looked at the ps and it blew up.(its a powermax, no surprise)so i replaced the ps so now it powers up. but whenever i turned on the pc the monitor would go to sleep mode.earlier i switched out the athlon chip. apparently it wasnt compatible with my mobo (which is an msi kt6v). so i switched them back and it seems that the monitor doesnt go into sleep anymore.but i have the msi usb diagnostics tool hooked up to my mobo and it says that my processor is damaged or installed improporly. how do i fix this?

That board has a KT600 VIA chip, it will support any XP athlon. you might need to go into the bios and set the FSB, what Athlon is it?

i wanna say 2200 but im not sure at all. and the problem about that is my monitor stays black. like the pc will power up but nothing comes on the screen.
i have a gforce 3 gc.all this thing has been is problems.

Sound like your having a video card problem too, might need to try another card just to get the monitor up, any beeps when you turn it on? Are you sure you put the cpu heatsink and fan on right and plugged the fan in?

the fan is in and it works. but there are no beeps when i turn it on.but i dont know if i put the speaker plugs in right.if that even matters.i also have data plugs that i have no clue where they go.

Think thats a 939 Athlon 64 board, theres not many socket A boards left! But anyway to use your CPU you need a socket A
