Hurry! Check This build. Going to order.

Don't get a Pentium D. They officially suck. I would highly recommend an X2 3800, if you can fit it into the budget.

He is only going to be using it for music, surfing web, and other basic things. If he needs extra performance I can overclock the heck out of that little beast. Suggestions keep them coming. Thanks.

EDIT: For My Brother.

The D 805 is a great processor. Just watch out for cooling that beast :)

The Foxconn motherboard is kinda junky though.. lemme check if there is a better one in that price range...

EDIT: Ya, I guess there isn't much choice, so you probably can't get Core 2 support in that price range. Anyway, w/ overclocking, the 805 is better than the 820 due to the higher multiplier and the 533mhz FSB. You will hopefully make it to 3.5+ ghz, or you could get the 820. doesn't matter.

Thanks because I wasn't so sure on that mobo. I wanted it to be a good overclocking board in case I was going to but also, probably good interegated graphics. Another too is that I want it to be compatible for the ram.

I actually think that an AM2/939 build might be better in this case, even though you don't have a dual core then. The cooling that you would need for either the 820 or the 805 is going to be crazy. (I know :) )

Are you ordering tonight? Cause I have to go now..

EDIT: The only thing is the case/psu, but I think that is good. I would recommend going with AM2 and the 3500+, most likely.

I guess I can wait till tomorrow night. aww :P Ya, I took a look at case/psu too but I figured it would be sufficient for his needs. I don't know for sure. Hopefully I'll get more input on this tomorrow. Thanks for help guys! :)

Dual Core FTW!!!

Uh your CPU link is the same as the DVD link. FYI :P I'd also go Dual core no matter what you do as that will help him the most out of anything he's going to use it for ATM.
