hydro cooler cpu temp

i just installed my hydro cooler my CPU temp is at 41 deg c at idle using a corsair hydro h60 with fx 6300, Are these temps normal? under 99 per cent load using prime 95 temp reaches 51 after 15 minutes the arrow on the fan indicates blowing into the radiator but im not sure has anyone come across a similar faulty?

Your idle temperature seems high considering you are using a water cooler. What kind of case are you using and what case fans does it have? Since heat from the radiator is blown into the case you need good air flow inside the case to get rid of the heat from it and all the other heat producing components.

CPU: AMD FX-8350
Cooler: Corsair H60
Case: Antec Three Hundred
Case Fans:
- Front: 2x120mm Antec TriCool (draws air in, low speed setting)
- Side 1x120mm Antec TriCool (draws air in, low speed setting)
- Top: 1x140mm Antec TriCool (pulls air out, low speed setting)
- Back: 1x120mm Corsair H60 fan (draws air in, auto speed setting)

CPU temperatures measured using Core Temp
Idle: 12C
Load: 54C (Prime 95)

The case fan for the Corsair H60 is mounted so the air is drawn into the case. Corsair recommends this to blow cooler outside air through the radiator. Corsair says this cools the CPU better.

MisterEd how can you possible tell if they're high when you don't know ambient?
You're right I don't know OPs ambient temperature. Mine is 76F (24C).

The FX CPU idle temperatures tend to run lower than previous CPUs such the Phenom II. For example my other computer with a Phenom II 960T has an idle temperature of about 45C. It is using the stock CPU cooler and the case is not that great.

You are right overall because the load temperature is what counts. In the OPs case his load temperature is good.

Mate then your temps are wrong. YOu cannot have an idle temperature of 12oC when your ambient is 24oC unless you are breaking the thermodynamic rules, or using TEC, or other advanced cooling.

The core idle temps sensor on FXs are screwed up. You need to go by the CPU socket temp sensor for idle temps.

Those temps are alittle high, but I have no idea what kind of case he has.

51oC aint high man. Even at say 20oC thats 31oC delta, which for a bog standard pc and cooler is about right. Either way, 52oC is completely safe.

My ambient temp is 74oF. I have the Corsair H100 on my Phenom ii X4 940. At idle my temps are 31oC. I'm running Prime95 right now, with 100% CPU usage and am getting temps at 43oC. I have a push pull configuration on my radiator blowing out of the case. I can understand the idea of pulling air into the case through the radiator so I might try that after I get back from a little weekend vacation, even though my temps are good where they are.

I said alittle high and didn't say it wasn't safe. Unless he has it 80F in his room and has a crappy case. Even running a stock cooler its (alittle) high. Average should be in the low 30c at idle and around 45c under load.

Thats pretty good, a 7oC delta at idle and a 20oC at load. Nothing wrong with that at all.

case is a zalman with 5 x 120 mm fans, dont know why it idles so high i have the hydro cooler blowing through the radiator.
