Hyper 212 halo and corsair commander duo

Hi, I have the Corsair airflow 3000d argb case and a corsair commander duo fan hub. I have the three front fans connected with a fan splitter to fan1 and a further 5 corsair rs120 argb fans daisy chained and connected to fan2. I'm looking at getting a hyper 212 halo and was wondering if I could connect the power straight to the cpu fan header and the argb connector to the existing argb daisy chain on argb2. Would this work? Thanks

Yes, that setup will work fine. The Hyper 212 Halo fan power goes straight to the CPU_FAN header on the H510M, like exactly where it should go, and since it is a 4-pin PWM fan the motherboard will control the speed based on CPU temperature. For the ARGB side, you have two options. The cleaner one is to add the 212 Halo to the existing daisy chain on ARGB2. Plug the 212 ARGB cable into the OUT port of the last RS120 in the chain. Corsair RS120s have a pass-through ARGB connector on each fan specifically for this, and the 212 Halo also supports daisy-chaining so the link works. If the end of your RS120 chain does not have an obvious OUT connector free, you can also plug the 212 ARGB lead directly into the ARGB2 port on the Commander Duo using a splitter, though the daisy-chain route keeps cable management cleaner. Either way iCUE will pick it up automatically once it is physically connected.

The fan connects directly to the CPU fan header and that will also provide the RGB control in whatever software you are using.
