OK, so I got my new2me/used motherboard installed and I started getting random freezes with a reboot. I then noticed on the boot screen the error above. So I looked it up and there really isn't a fix for it but to turn off HPET in BIOS, and then to make sure the CPU-NB is the same or a higher frequency then the HT link.
Well, none of those options fixed my problem. I then thought of checking the memory. I'm running 2ea. GSkill DDR2 looking for 1.8volt; and 2ea. Corsair Dominator looking for 2.1volt. I noticed the voltage was set on auto and was only sending 1.8volt to my memory. I uped the voltage to 2.08 volt and the freezing slowed down. I still was getting the freezing issues but not as often. So I decided to go back in and up the voltage to 2.13 volts.
This is where the weirdness began. I started up CPU-Z and it couldn't even tell me any info about the memory. Was able to sit at the desktop and browse the internet for a short bit, then WHAM; frozen again. Had to reset CMOS this time and go back through and reset all the options I had set before, except for the voltage, I dropped it down to 2.03 last night and just now as I was typing this..random reboot...(at least I didn't have to retype everything.
)
After rebooting and going into BIOS, I set the voltage down one more notch. Does this sound like I'm looking in the right direction for this error?
