I am completely confused

Okay so here is my issue, the computer was running just fine up until this point of when I tried to run my game. It comes up with the error of "The central directory was not found. If your opening a multi-disk archive, make sure you have inserted the last disk. Retry?" Then I have to press no and it shuts down the program. Now I tried reinstalling the game and still got the issue. When I went to go re-install my operating system it could not find the disk in the cd rom drive. When I click on the disk in computer it asks to insert a disk, I checked and both the sata and the sata power connectors were in. So possibly that its just a bad cd rom drive or possibly a bad hard drive I was wondering what you guys thought.
 
You should mention the game and your method of installation..I doubt you need to re-install the entire OS for one game.
 
I am installing it directly from there homepage, I have tried reinstalling it multiple times with the same exact result.
 
See if the drive will detect a different cd in the drive. If not, then I suspect you have a bad cdrom drive.
