Damn Computers

Hey everyone.

I have a problem. I was trying to install videocard on another computer and thought that changing biosettings according to chipset would help. I downloaded the options and a program that Updates my biosettings according to the chipset. When I updated it, and restarted my computer, all it does is, everything turns on (fans, memory, everything is fine, but nothing is shown on screen.) The screen is black and the computer has continuos LONG beeps and there is nothing i can do. I tried resetting cmost settings by taking out battery from motherboard but it didn't work.

Any suggestions?

AKA dead mobo i think. Wasn't there some motherboard models that could restore factory settings if you happened to brick your bios?

ouch, had a similar problem with my girlfriends computer, and just swapped out the mobo, i didnt have the patience to figure it out. and not many boards have a default system recovery for the bios

look up the mobo settings and see if theres jumpers on the MOBO its self. my mobo has some to alter cmos passwords and bios reset.

Wait why did you try to mess with the bios just for installing a video card? Before you assume that the motherboard is dead I would do a search on Google for "bios beep codes" and see if you can find your bios type. Is the monitor light orange or blinking or anything other then solid green (normal operation)? Make sure the video card is compatible with the motherboard and then try the video card in another computer. Also make sure the video card has power to it and is seated properly.

Have a look at your manual and see if there is cmos reset jumper, if not then then try what Konsole is say cus when I pluged in my new gpu I didnt give it, its own power and had a long beep and blank screen.
