i am really confused

i am buying a sata-150 hard drive for my computer and im keeping my current 80gb hard drive in. First the only port i see, says sata-3 on it but the problem is that i dont see sata-2. and im not even sure if it is sata becuase it could be labeling something else. and if i have 2 hard drives do i need this Raid thing? wat is it?

its probably just saying like "sata 1, sata 2, sata 3" numbering each slot. If your not sure what they look like, its almost an inch long, very skinny, and is usually surrounded by 1 or 3 more slots.

And you dont need raid, raid is mainly for people who want 2 copies or everything, or want to make there transfer rates faster.

bob, didnt u already post this before? this is what the sata plug looks like. if its there, it can work sata.

i did but i never really knew wat they looked like, and after looking in my computer i realized there is no sata 2 and that the sata 3 is not directly above or next to the port. its a bit above the port. and i have one more ?. are all hard drives able to fit in the hard drive slots in computers. or do u have to have a special slot for hard drives like over 250gb. with my dell it looks like a tight fit behind my 80gb.
