in my siggy is my new build, just got done with it yesterday, my ultimate goal is to run this as my media storage, htpc, and also jump from Tv to 8 monitors to do some serious internet surfing. I don't game on Pc, I use consoles. I am currently running xbmc and so far I am lovin it. The 8 monitors is simply going to be comparisons of websites. Nothing major.

I have built my own rig once before and had the most terrible of times. 2k usd and 1 horribly non working intel cpu/gigabyte mobo later and all the hassles in between it got side tracked put into a closet in which a 5 gallon bucket of paint (latex) in case you were wondering spills into the open side of my case onto the board cpu etc etc.

I from then on bought a few pc's already built and tweaked them as needed. I did a ton of reading and figuring and built the rig I am on now (in siggy) and im pleased to say I did it!!! With one exception LOL I have put ubuntu on before windows. I am wonderful on win os. I am brand new to ubuntu and with all the prep I did for this I did not think about partitioning the damn ssd before putting ubuntu on. I put the ubuntu loaded ssd and even tried to put it in another pc and erase it only to get grub rescue screen. I have been reading for hours on ubuntu website but the language is all new to me. Its a english speaking (Windows os) guy on a french (ubuntu) website trying to get instructions.

i have succesfully installed gparted. But now my anxiety of screwing this up is high and im scared to try it. Anyone have a step by step on wth I need to do in my language lol. Also how does the new build sound for what I am doing?

Also...i am looking at ram and there is some kingston 1833 cl13 value ram would this ram be better then my kingston hyper fury 1600 cl10?
