I believe my Ultra X2 550w power supply died

So. Story:
I fold all the time. So, my power hog Pentium D 820 draws a lot of power, especially when overclocked. Yesterday, it was running at [email protected]. I am working on my laptop, and hear the computer click off. I felt the back, around the PSU area, and nearly burned my fingers on the PSU. I unplugged everything, and blew a fan on the PSU to cool it off. I tried a while later, and it wouldn't boot up. I hooked up just the basics: first just the motherboard and PSU, then adding the CPU, then memory, etc. Each time, when I turn the switch on the back of the PSU, the motherboard light goes on, but when I try the power switch, nothing happens.

I jumped the PSU, and it wouldn't start

So, there's my story. I'm thinking it is the PSU, and I just need to replace it. Any ideas or thoughts? Thanks!

Yep, I'll try for an RMA. If I decided again, I would get another PSU, but since I can get an RMA (if I can find the invoice :P), I might as well do that.

ARGH. Basically, I just received a nice new power supply from Ultra. Great service and communication. But, still nothing. Next best guess: CPU.

well..might be the mobo then...you have old pc to test power supply with? ive gotten bad ones..

I'd suspect the motherboard before the CPU. I trust you've ensured that all the connectors are securely in place, particularly the power switch.
