I Bought The Wrong Video Card...Need Advice

I've never really been a gamer. I built a computer this summer with this in mind, and chose the XFX 8500GT video card. I recently bought Call of Duty 4, and am paying the consequences for choosing this video card. At 960 x 600 resolution 4X anti-aliasing, I have an fps between 15-45. At 1680 x 1050, the fps is between 5-10. What's my best option to increase performance? Buy another video card and run in SLI mode? Or just buy one good card? I don't want to spend much more than $150. Thanks

Computer Specs:
Q6600 Quad
2 Gb Kensington Ram
MSI P6N SLI-FI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
21.6" Samsung LCD 1680 x 1050 resolution

Hope that helped! :)

Thanks for the replies. The consesus says to buy a mid-range gaming card. Should I run the new card in parallel with my current card, or should I sell my current card?

If you buy a decent new card, you probably won't see a huge advantage to running both cards together, but it's really up to you.
