i broke down and got a mac

well guys, despite trying to find a mac for a "good deal" aka the cheap price. i ended up dropping about 500 bucks for this one. i am assuming its cheaper than most out there, and if i need to, i can resell it on ebay for close to what i paid for. this is what i got

oh yea, i forgot to mention, if this works out to where i like it, i will be selling my crappy hp xt412(i think its crappy at least), the backlight went out which is why i wanted a new laptop, how much you guys think i could sell it for??
 
well how much are we talking? theres nothing wrong with it at all, other than the backligt went out, but i have no idea how to fix it, i only repair desktop pcs, ive never screwed with laptops.
 
What's nice is that you can sell that Mac laptop for a pretty good turnaround, Macs hold their value a lot better than PCs in general...

That ibook isn't the greatist but it's ok for 500. Personaly 1.2GHz is rather small. My laptop has 1.86 and I want better. Also the 30 gb harddrive won't hold much.

well he wont be doing many huge games on that comp...so unless he plans on storing a bunch of movies on there hes fine.
 
Eh, well have fun with it. My mini is almost the exact same machine as that one and it's way too slow for me. Much slower than my Sempron based laptop running at 800MHz(IE power save mode)
 
i wont play games on this computer, that is what my pentium 2.4 with 2gb ram is for, i just wanted a laptop for portability, light audio editing, and maybe give photoshop a try on it.
 
I wish you people would quit bashing a computer just because of it's name. Unless you have experience with it, you have no reason to even post on this topic!

Why? I just bought a macbook, great buy for the price, especially with 100mir with a printer, free nano and 100 bucks off. Macs did used be pretty crappy and they do have some hardware issues, but not nearly as many now. Since they switched over to intel their cpus are definately an improvement. And Mac OS X is definately a better OS than windows xp, since windows really is a pretty crappy product, now I still love my pc but I am really liking my mac so far. Which a year ago I would have said I hate macs, but like the other one said before until you have a true experience with them, and have sufficient time to use them then don't state your opinion, since it is meaningless.:D
 
i have asked some friends of mine who have macs and they say i got a pretty decent deal. granted i know there is faster out there, but this 500 bucks i spent on this one is killing my pocketbook. at least now if i want to upgrade it, it will be a bit cheaper than getting top of the line new stuff.

and to the mac haters, i dont blame you for hating them, most people who know nothing about them do the exact same thing, and that is say they hate them, but in reality they just have no idea how they operate. i used to do the same to an extent, but after owning various types of pc's and actually being a tech for a little while now, macs look better everyday compared to a pc. just my 2 cents.....:eek:
