i built a new PC but it is not working

hello everyone.
so yesterday i assembled for the first time a new pc but it is not working.
the MOBO is Gigabyte p67 and a Cougar 1000w PSU.i connected everything but nothing is working.
i didnt put any connections like mouse,monitor..etc . i only connected the psu and to electricity and tried firing it up but nothing is working or lighting up except for the psu switch led.
i am using 6gb rams(2*3),1tb hard drive,dvd rome,intel core i5 2400(3.1ghz) and Radeon 6950HD 2Gb
i am suspecting something is wrong with the internal wiring as i took alot of time in it and i dont know if something went wrong.

any help will be much appreciated.
 
The mb is dual channel on the RAM, so just run 2 sticks--but make sure they are in the correct 2 channels and seated properly.

As to the pc not working:
-is the 4/8 pin and 24 pin connected and seated all the way?
-did you use the standoffs between the case and mb, and use only where the mb screw holes are?
 
Yes, it sounds like you have missed a connection. Even dead mobos generally light up, check the cables again.

everything was connected perfectly but the problem was as Beny said,the screws where connected to the case without the little beads that raise the mobo as not to be shorted.
thank god the mobo didnt die because i operated it a few times without the beads.
everything is working perfectly now.

guys i have a problem now.whenever i play WOW or black ops,sometimes i get coloured pixels all over the screen and i have to restart it.i thought i had loose DVI connection and bought another one but the problem still exists.

my graphics card temp i think is too high,46 degrees celsius. is it a heat problem?
my case is gigabyte sumo with two back fans one with 1100 rpm and the other is 880.
the average temp of the 4 core,is 35 degree to sometimes 40.
what should i do?
 
46c is a normal temp, especially during games. Sounds like a bad video card. But don't trust anything in Black Ops, cuz that could happen at any point. Badly coded game.
 
You got the Video drives updated to the latest? Probably not the prolem, but that Cougar power supply is made by HEC, not the greatest brand.
 
the driver is the latest.i know cougar is not the best but its 1000w,so plenty of power.
i cleaned the pins of the card several times but still the problem happens randomly.
i am not talking only about Black ops because i know it is glitched,but what about WOW or portal2?

if it happens again,should i just return the card and ask the seller to see him or is it a heat problem?
it happened again yesterday andd the computer froze but i didnt restart it i let it to heal itself,but strange thing happened.
the graphics card fan made very very loud noise and was at its maximum speed so i had to restart it because i feared something would happen.i then read the temp of the card after reboot and it was very hot 52 degrees celsius.

is it a bad card?
 
Dont guess you got another computer or someone you now that has one to test the card before you start sending stuff back?
 
k,so i figured the problem.the card fan wasnt working properly.so if i play an intensive game,it doesnt increase the speed with the increase of temp. it remains quite and slow so the card temp rises very high untill it messes up.

i downloaded MSI burner and adjusted everything.now the computer is running very smooth with no problems what so ever.
