I've tried about a million time's to boot from the cd drive. I've went into bios and can change the setting, but it seem's like it doesn't take.

I'm wanting to do the memo86 test,,I burned that to cd after extracing the file's, I just can't get it to boot. What am I doing wrong.

It seem's like after installing the second stick of ram, my computer just keep's getting slower and slower.

make sure you burn it as a cd image, not just as a data disk.

also, make sure your laptop boot order is set to boot from CD

I'll try burning another one. Truthfully I don't remember seeing anything about an image. But I'll do it again. Thank's

well you dont extract the files and the burn them, you have to burn the image to the disk... by that you need a program that will extract the image as it wrights it to the disk

The .iso file comes zipped, so he would need to extract the .zip file.

What program are you using to burn the disk?

Also, make sure you are downloading the file from here: http://www.memtest.org/download/2.01/memtest86+-2.01.iso.zip

I think I'm using the wrong program to burn it. I have the windows cd writing wizard. I think it's making it a audio cd.

What kind of program do I need. I tried using movie maker, and windows media player, but they couldn't find the file if I saved to my picture's. Where do I need to send the file to. I've got to get this right. I only have 2 disk's left.

I use Nero for all burning in Windows. You may already have it as it comes bundled with a lot of new systems and optical drives, or you can download it.

Ok,,I found the trail version's under support then downloads. Wich version should I get,,,or does it really matter that much. Just thought one might be better. Thank's.

Well, Nero did it for me. It's a good thing too. I was down to my last cd.

I let it run over night and everything passed. I don't know if I did it right, or something is wrong. Does this mean only one side of memory is being used. "unused device"

And also,,,,how the heck do I save and/or print a screen shot. Thank's for all the help.
