I can't get my lap tops screen to show

When I turn on my lap top everything lights up on the key board that shows that there is at least power running through the machine. However, the lap tops screen is not lighting up or doing anything.

Any ideas?
 
Could be several different things. The onboard video chip/adapter could be friend or it could be a loose cable or wire between the motherboard and screen to name a few. Without being able to actually physically see the computer, it's hard to say for sure. I'd take it in to a repair shop or to someone you know that knows something about computers and see what they say...
