I can't transfer images from CF card to hard drive very quick...Why?

I've been noticing that my computer is slower and slower at transfering images from my CF card to my hard drive. I'm a photographer and can shoot several hundred images per session. It will take my machine an hour or more to transfer from my card to machine. I have had viruses in the past but it seems to be working ok now. Actually any work I do with images with any software seems very slow. Can I have too much stuff running at once. How do I know what all is running in the background that needs to be shut off?

Can anyone help me.

This worries me... although i'm not an expert on diagnosing hijackthis logs...
 
Start here and post the logs.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here or here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Please keep updating until it says you have the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • A log will be saved automatically which you can access by clicking on the Logs tab within Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

If you continue to experience problems after doing this, please post a HijackThis log by doing the following:

Download the HijackThis installer from here.
Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.

Click Do a system scan and save a logfile

Most of what HijackThis lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

Post the logfile that HijackThis produces along with the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware log

Yeah a lot more cleanup is needed.

Go into add/remove programs and uninstall the old version of adobe reader 7 as well as any and all older versions of java you have installed that isn't Java 6 update 20. There is an entry that you have an old version installed, version 5 update 5. Entries can be labeled as java or J2SE runtime. If you don't have version 6 update 20 installed, go here to download and install it.

To install the latest version of adobe reader go here.

Just make sure you uncheck mcafee security scan before click on download.

Next, please rerun hijackthis and place a check next to the following entries.

You still have some issues I posted for you to fix but are still there. Can you please post an uninstall log from hijackthis. Open hijackthis, click on open misc tools section, click on open uninstall manager, click on save, save the file, then copy and paste the log back here.
