i dont get it!

I play UT2k4 and Half Life 2, both at 1152*864, settings maxed. All of them, for both games. I use Fraps sometimes, just to get an idea of what im doing, and in both games- i get about the same FPS. I dont get it! i thought HL2 would get much lower FPS, just cuz its newer, prettier graphically, etc. I get 40+ standing outside, looking at water and shadows. In UT, i get about the same- is my UT getting sloed down? i dont get it. Any help is appreciated.

Soooooo much of it depends. Maybe HL2 is newer, which means it will have better ways of making a game look better while not slowing it down as much. I would say dont worry about it.

newer technology means better graphics but not nessacerily lower FSP. Good realy!!
