I have 4 512MB stick of RAM (DDR400) and with two sticks in their the frequency is 158MHz with all four sticks in their it runs at 100MHz.

Brands
Two of the sticks are Patriot
the other two are made by TMTc and CMTL

really so it is normal? well that sucks i was hoping i would be able to run all four stick at 158MHz. But, it is faster to just have the four sticks in there right or should I just have the two 512MB sticks in there (im using the PC for games if that helps)

basically if your going for lots of memeory your better off getting it in 2 sticks.

so if you want 2gb get 2x1gb instead of 4x512mb

two sticks running in dual channel will perform faster than 4 sticks running in dual channel

Yes, but he's not running them in dual channel. Obviously, if he has 3 different brands he's not running them in DC.

no, they are in dual channel, but they are double sided, so they underclock to DDR333, if you get 4x512MB DDR400 that are single sided then they will still be at DDR400, remember what i told you, get the RAM i sold you and just use it, your using DDR333 right now anyways, like i said, just use the RAM i sold you by its self, cause you can run DDR400 and CL2.5 with T1 timing

It can't be dual channel, for it to be dual channel, all of the sticks need to be the exact same. As he's said, they're not.

most of the time yes, but the TMTc and the CMTL were dual channel before he bought the patriot RAM off of me
