I don't think anyone will have an answer for this

I'm really serious about this, so please, if you have any ideas at all, please share them, cuz I don't even know where to begin.

I wanted to get a laptop for someone in Russia, Siberia to be exact, Novosibirsk is the city. She already has one, but it's fairly outdated, and I think it has some faulty hardware, as her IT department has checked it out several times. I was hoping for Windows 7 and thought about Dell, but all their new laptops have Windows 8. I don't even know Windows 8 myself yet and she has Windows XP.

I can read very little Russian, but this isn't a problem since most Russian websites support Google Translate or vice versa. I just don't really know where I should go. I almost bought her a Dell Inspiron 15R last night, and then I realized it would be a pain for her if I gave her a wall outlet converter to bring that with her wherever she went. Also, I know that with desktop towers, there's the switch on the back that switches it from 115 volts to whatever the other option is. I don't know if laptops do this. And I think it may be easier on her if I just got her a laptop that already has that two round prong wall outlet cable for Europe and Eastern Europe, rather than provide her with a converter from USA to Eastern Europe.

Any info at all, like perhaps websites that I should look at, would be of great help. I looked up Russian laptop computer websites in Bing, but got nothing. All I got were a bunch of links to websites selling Russian keyboards for laptops.

Thanks so much and have wonderful holidays, whether or not you celebrate.

Most laptop's power supply is range from 100 to 240Volts. all you need is a wire with russian plug in there. I am sure she might be able to use back the wire from the old power supply.
Cheers.
