i dont understand this

ok i have a 12gb hard drive from a gateway(ik its bad!)

it says i have 6gb of free space, but when i look at program files, WINDOWS, users and documents, the space doesnt add yup to menory taking up?

They are not the only file locations
There is also a large (hidden) Pagefile on C:\
And there may be other hidden folder under C:\

You can change folder options in Control Panel, to view Hidden and System files (this is in two areas in there )
