My parts got here this Thursday, and I built my computer. Here are the specs:
E8400
Gigabyte DS3L P35
Diamond HD 3870
4GB G.SKILL DDR2 800
Antec 900
Corsair HX 520W
WD 320GB 7,200 RPM HD
DVD/CD Burner/Reader
I'm currently installing Vista 64-bit Ultimate, and am planning on dual booting it with Ubunbu. A tutorial said that with Vista/Ubuntu, it was easiest to just do Vista first then Ubuntu, as Ubuntu has better, for a lack of a better word, adapting technology than Vista does. Ubuntu can recognize that there already an OS installed, and it will not try to remove it, as Vista does. (http://apcmag.com/5022/dualbooting_vista_and_linux).
I think I got that figured out (if someone has tried this technique and it hasn't worked, I'm happy to hear what you got on Vista/Ubuntu dual boots, and I don't want to hear how bad Vista is).
Main question that I know a lot of you would know the answer to (as some of you are happy with Vista) is: How do I turn off all that security mumbo jumbo that I encountered when I used Vista before. Like having it ask you twice before you run a program.
I'll notify you guys with updates and stuff. Thanks.
