I hate Windows Default thumnail explorer setting

I really really hate in Windows where it defaults to thumbnail view in Windows explorer when you visit folder for the first time. Is there any way to get the default to be view -> details
 
Go into folder options (control panel on vista, and its up on the tool bar in xp i think) and under the view tab there's an option to "always show icons, never thumbnails"

Bunch of other settings in there too if that's not what your looking for.
