I have a big problem!

Okay so I was on my laptop when the Internet randomly disconnected so I tried reconnecting and it didn't work so my reaction to this was to restart the computer so when it turned back on and was at the login screen I logged on and then after awhile it came up with a error message saying something about a file in the ram was not read then the screen went all black so I got scared and turned the laptop off.
Now when I turned it back on the mouse wasnt working so I plugged a external mouse in to log in and found that my keyboard wasn't working either do I got a keyboard aswell.
Now I looked around on my devices to find that my touch pad, keyboard and Internet were all failing to start so I turned off the laptop and took it off charge and took the battery out and left it for half an hour.
Then I put it all back to find that it still wasn't working.
I don't know what to do, sorry for the long post but this
Is the only computer I have right now and I need it for school.
Also I am running vista if that helps at all.

The factory recovery includes a clean installation of windows, most oem machines including acer have a hidden recovery partion, that acts just like a windows disc.

Using the alt + f10 hot keys at startup will activated the recovery process.

You could use dropbox or a like service to back up your files. Elsewise you will loose everything. And on Acer I am 99% sure that if you hit F12 it will bring up a boot device list and that will have your restore partition on it. At least on sisters 5552 it works.
