hi i am looking to either upgrade the motherboard to something else or get something that will help me run a few games. i am trying to find certain components that would work with the motherboard and the actual prices. i am not really a builder when it comes to hardware only software.

Honestly it's a better bet to migrate to a newer platform. AM3+ is super old at this point, those FX CPUs launched over a decade ago.

i know but i've been looking for something that would only run a specific type of games ( like skyrim) not like the juggernaut games that have been out if i were to upgrade what would be the budget for a cheaper option that is close to 500 dollars?

What other components do you have?

Realistically you could replace CPU/MB/RAM and keep the others that are in your system.
