I have a small problem...

Alright so I bought a computer form someone awhile back. It works great only with a few problems I been wanting to fix.

First: When I chat in Vent, my mic makes a few fuzzy noises but it works. Now when I play TF2 or any other game that uses a Mic, everyone wants to scratch their ears out. I tried fixing the settings but itdoes not do alot of help.

Second: When I play a Online game, my Ping goes Crazy! When I play TF2 my Ping shoots up to the 300's! And for WoW it goes from 150-500. Someone told me its a RAM issue but I am not sure.

Third: My Head phones. I only hear on one side of my ear; the right ear. I cant hear anything on my left at ALL. This is not a MAJOR issue, but it gets annoying at times.

If someone could help me, I would really appreciate this! Thanks again all!

Well wait for someone smarter then I to reply to confirm but......

Mic/Headphones could just be you have a crappy on-board sound card...easy fix buy a sound card. should fix the first 2 problems.

Another trick is try a different jack and enable the new ones for mic/sound. You might have a bad jack. (which a sound card fixes too)

Ram far as I know does not effect your ping only loading cities etc would ram effect in WoW...your LAN does.
Several things could screw it up...WoW High Pop server = 100-150 avg ping on Blackhand.

Have you tried to update your motherboards drivers? Could be a issue with old drivers might be limiting your internet.

I dont know if I did. If you can , please link me to where I can DL Motherboard Updates?

And I may go out and buy a new sound card....

First Issue: You mic is most likely dying or is just not good, what maps do you play on in TF2, I think I have heard you ( no offence)

Second Issue: Your online ping could be several issues, most likely crappy broadband or if you are on dial up. A bad connection is the worst ever or you could have the settings up to high, when you play WoW, are you on a server close to home?

Third: Same as your mic, it just isn't good. Or maybe it is, I find sometimes that just turning it around makes a world of difference.

Hope I helped.

I have 2 head phones I tested. Neither of them work on TF2 but work on Ventrilo. I am |DI|Danda didn't mean to be known :P

I have a wireless connection. my provider is Cox and I use Linksys as my brand to use for Internet.

Ill test it out by turning it around. *Sigh* this computer is great, but sound is pissing me off...
