I have a virus I can't get rid of !

I run Windows XP on a HP PC. Recently I picked up a virus which prevents my F-Secure anti virus software from updating... I'm not sure if it's the same virus, but I'm also prevented from visiting the F-Secure website and a whole load of other anti virus / spyware websites such as Spybot etc.

When I try to install Spybot, it also fails to connect to Spybots website and won't go any further.

My computer is also much slower than usual and it takes ages for web pages to appear.

I've checked for viruses using F-secure, but found nothing... F-Secure last updated on Jan 1st.

Anyone got any ideas ?

My advice to you would be to download combofix from another uninfected computer and transfer it to yours via a usb flashdrive and run it. But i've come across a few badly infected machines that won't even allow combofix to run. If combofix won't run then you will have to slave that hard drive to another machine and run a virus scan on it. If should find some a few things including the item that is stopping you from updating and running combofix. After running the virus scan, then you should be able to put the drive back in the original machine and finish the Malwarebytes scan and Hijackthis scan.
