First of all, new here. Hello all!
Ok, so here's the deal. I've been running with one hard drive for quite some time, and, I decided to get a new hard drive to save all of my music and movies and junk. I copied everything I wanted to the new drive.
I then reinstalled XP over my old drive and now everything is all nice, fresh, and new. I've designated all of my downloads to go to the new drive, so that nothing is downloaded to the old. In fact, I want nothing BUT the OS on the old drive.
So. I want to protect my OS drive to keep it clean.
Aside from getting good anti-virus protection and all that business, can anyone make any other suggestions to keep my OS drive virus free?
Are there any vital Windows folders that I can mark "read only", or somehow write protect? I know some I wouldn't be able to because the OS has to constantly write to them..I just want to make sure I'm doing everything I can.
