I have recently bought an emachines T5010

You should have probably put this in the desktop section but oh well!;) After checking out emachines website, I would advise you to buy an extra stick of RAM to make a GB. Getting a new video card would be good too, considering that it is integrated graphics. How much are you willing to spend anyways?
 
I would upgrade to 1GB of RAM. And upgrade the graphics to something at or above a ATI 9600XT or nVidia 6600, depending on if the computer can support a card, and if its AGP or PCI-E.
