I know it's better, but by how much?

Hi guys,
I'm going to be buying a HP DV6-7014nr in a matter of 2 months. As of now I own a HP G56-129WM. Now this seems like a silly thing to post about, but I was honestly wanting to know. I know the DV6 is loads better than the G56, but by just how much? Here's the differences in performance:

G56
Intel Celeron 900, 2.2GHz single core, single thread
3GB RAM
250GB 5400rpm HD
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500

DV6-7014nr
Intel i7-3610QM, 2.3GHz, Turbo Boost to 3.2GHz, quad-core, Up to 8 Threads
8GB RAM
750GB 7200rpm HD
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M

So in terms of performance, how many times better would the DV6 really be? I've heard that an extra thread basically equals the amount of 60% of a core, so wouldn't the extra threads alone tack on another 2.5 cores worth of power/performance if that were the case? Anyway, I was just wanting to see the numbers behind how much better this new lappy will be. Thanks to any and all who read and reply.

I'd say well over twice as fast, maybe even three times faster than what you have now. Basically it's gonna be a great upgrade. :)

You have no idea how anxious I am Vista lol. I've had my lappy for 2 years now, and 'll give it credit for what it's done, but what I want to do with my computer has changed drastically from when I got this to now. Thanks for the reply.

Look at it this way, the new laptop's gonna have four times the cores, more than twice the amount of RAM, a much faster hard drive and a much, much stronger GPU.

It's gonna be a hell of a lot faster! ;)

If I didn't know any better Vista, I'd say you're trying to tell me what I want to hear! Thanks for the reply mate.
