psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817189013
maybe 500W is too much. but look either xcio, antec or silverstone.
make sure it has PFS active. and modular is a big plus.
stable psu is very important. don't buy 20$ psu. I did it and regret about it.
memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145566
get another gig if you need later.
this one has 5-5-5-15 timings. you can get 4-4-4-12 timing memory for not much more.
and ran memtest86 for 9 or more hours when you get it all built.
get nec dvd writer or pioneer. around 30$ on newegg.
total including shiping(maybe 20$ shhipping if they ship everything together.
case 55$ including rebate
mobo 80$
processor = 135
psu 60$
dvd writer 35$
memory 111$
total 476. but most probably willbe 450. ask them to ship everything together.
make sure your board has onboard video and if you plan putting video card
it has to have pci-e. slot. wait until dx10 cards come out. vista aero is best on dx 10
edit: ups forgot HD
get seagate(5 year waranty) or western digital (3 year) sata 2 HD. with 16mb cache.
250gb is 70$
120 is around 40-50.
if you get seagate get perpendicular recording HD.
I was about to build it for my relative. but he is so ghetto.
he wanted his pc "Dell" branded . fine. I don't care.
it's just dell put's lot's junk parts in there. and the waranty is 1 year for all parts.
here you have 3-5 year waranty for all parts.
fujitsu HD, for example who knows what kind of mobo is in there.
