I have a this options for a new pc (so far) for the purpose of controlling a large LED screen as my monitor (4.6m x 2.3m). Cost is not really the issue just being good enough to do the job & more. I can get any PC custom made (not myself) at a reasonable price if I supply a spec, so if anyone can reccommed an even better system that would be appreciated!
Spec:
Board: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3L
Processor: E 8400 core2 Duo 3Ghz
Ram:2 x 2gb Hyperex 1066mhz
Hard Disk: 500gb Western Digital 32mb Cache
Video Card x 2 dvi output
Power Supply (500w)
DVD Writer, Case, Operating System Total £750/$1200

Can I please have your opinions of the best Mobo & processor to get right now? Shall i get large hard disk & fster ram? Please Advise ....

Kind Regards.

the E8400 has a front side bus speed of 1333, so DDR2 667 memory would match it 1:1. So you can overclock the cpu to 1600 fsb and then only underclock the memory to 800 which would still waste memory speed. I bought DDR2 800 memory for my E8400 and then overclocked the cpu to 3.6ghz (1600 fsb) to match the cpu and memory 1:1. What I'm saying is it doesnt make any sense to buy memory that runs faster then the processor will run at even when safely overclocked, not that it should hurt but 1066 ram is much faster then the E8400 runs at stock.
